About:
Longwood High School came together on May 2nd to remind their community that mental health matters both on and off the field.
During their varsity softball dedication game, the Morgan’s Message club and the Longwood varsity softball team partnered to help spread an important message: athletes are humans first, and it’s okay to not be okay.
The event served as more than just a softball game — it became an opportunity to promote understanding, compassion, and open conversations surrounding mental health within the school community. Players, supporters, and attendees joined together to raise awareness and show support for student-athlete mental wellness.
By using athletics as a platform for advocacy, Longwood softball continues to demonstrate the positive impact student-led initiatives can have in helping break the stigma surrounding mental health and encouraging others to seek support when needed.
The team also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported the event and helped shine a light on something “much bigger than the game.
