The John Jay High School boys lacrosse program is teaming up with Somers Lacrosse and Lacrosse Out Cancer for a special evening dedicated to raising awareness and supporting an important cause.
This Friday, the longtime rivals will meet on Contest Field for the “Battle of Exit 6,” a matchup focused on more than competition. The event will bring together players, families, and fans in support of cancer awareness and fundraising efforts through Lacrosse Out Cancer.
Games like these continue to showcase the positive impact athletics can have in bringing communities together, using the platform of sports to support individuals and families affected by cancer while teaching student-athletes the importance of service, leadership, and giving back.
Faceoff is set for 6:30 p.m. as both programs come together for a night of purpose, community, and competition.
