About:
Students at Harborfields High School are once again demonstrating the power of teamwork and community service through the HF Helping Hands Lemonade Stand.
This year, the school’s Leadership Club, Student Council, and EnviroLions have joined forces with the Thomas J. Lahey (TJL) PTA to host the Helping Hands Stand, creating an opportunity for students and community members to make a difference while enjoying a refreshing treat.
The lemonade stand, held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., will raise funds for two impactful organizations: Little Shelter Animal Rescue and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Through their efforts, students are helping support animal welfare and lifesaving medical research and treatment for children facing serious illnesses.
In addition to fundraising, the event will also feature an educational component. Representatives from ReWild Long Island will be on hand to share information about the importance of native plant gardening and engage students in a hands-on activity focused on environmental stewardship.
The Helping Hands Stand is a wonderful example of students using leadership, collaboration, and service to create positive change in their community. By supporting local and national causes while promoting environmental awareness, these young leaders are showing that even small acts—like serving a cup of lemonade—can have a meaningful impact.
Team Up 4 Community applauds the Leadership Club, Student Council, EnviroLions, TJL PTA, and all the students involved for their commitment to helping others and strengthening their community.
