About:
The Mt. Sinai High School Boys Volleyball team is turning its game into an opportunity to make an impact with a special “Spike Out Childhood Cancer” event.
On October 1 at 4 p.m., the team will take the court at Mt. Sinai High School while rallying athletes, families, and community members around the fight against childhood cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear yellow or gold to show their support.
The event will feature food and raffles, with money raised supporting two meaningful causes. Half of the proceeds will be donated to Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Pediatric Cancer Center, while the other half will support a local family.
The Mt. Sinai players will also take the court in special gold jerseys generously donated by the Murgatore Family, helping bring even greater awareness to the cause.
Through “Spike Out Childhood Cancer,” Mt. Sinai Boys Volleyball is demonstrating how student-athletes can use their sport to raise awareness, support families facing difficult circumstances, and bring an entire community together for a cause bigger than the game.
