The North Rockland Athletics community marked the 25th anniversary of September 11th with a meaningful gesture of remembrance, choosing to pause athletic competition for the day.
Rather than taking the field or court, North Rockland student-athletes and the broader school community took time to remember the lives lost and honor the families, first responders, and communities forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.
The decision to step away from competition offered an opportunity to reflect on the strength, courage, sacrifice, and unity demonstrated during one of the most difficult moments in our nation’s history.
For student-athletes, the day served as an important reminder that some moments are bigger than sports—and that honoring those who served and sacrificed is a responsibility carried forward by each new generation.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
