About:
The athletic community is coming together on Monday, September 28 for a special Childhood Cancer Game in support of Giuliana, a 13-year-old who is battling Ewing sarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in the bones or the soft tissue around them.
The event, Impact on Pleasant Street: Play 4 Giuliana, will bring together student-athletes, families, and fans for an afternoon and evening centered on support, awareness, and community.
The day will feature two athletic events, beginning with Girls Soccer at 3:30 p.m. at BVT, followed by Volleyball at 5:00 p.m. at Nipmuc.
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Giuliana and her family, helping support them during her cancer journey.
More than just a pair of games, the event gives student-athletes an opportunity to use sports as a way to rally around someone in need and show the strength that comes from a community standing together.
The message behind the event says it all:
“On our team, no child fights alone.”
Through their participation, athletes are helping raise awareness for childhood cancer while showing Giuliana and her family that they have an entire community behind them.
Community members who would like to contribute can make a donation through the Nipmuc Volleyball fundraiser here: Donate to Play 4 Giuliana
