The Sartell Sabre Football program recently spent a rainy Saturday morning giving back to the community by helping the new Wyndham Garden Inn prepare for its upcoming November opening.
Players volunteered their time to assist with projects around the property, using teamwork and a willingness to help wherever needed.
The service project gave the student-athletes an opportunity to step away from football and contribute to something that will serve the local community.
Even with less-than-ideal weather, the players showed up ready to work and support their neighbors.
Efforts like this highlight the importance of community involvement within high school athletics and give student-athletes the chance to put leadership, responsibility, and teamwork into action beyond the field.
By lending a hand to a new local business, Sartell Sabre Football once again demonstrated that being part of a team means finding ways to support the community around you.
