The Prior Lake Football program recently took the field for its annual Tackle Cancer game, using its matchup against Rosemount to help raise awareness and support for the fight against cancer.
Tackle Cancer gives football programs throughout Minnesota an opportunity to rally their players, families, fans, and communities around a cause that has impacted so many lives.
For Prior Lake, the special game was about more than competition. It provided the Lakers with an opportunity to use the energy surrounding Friday night football to recognize those affected by cancer and stand together in support of individuals and families facing the disease.
Events like Tackle Cancer demonstrate the impact student-athletes can have when they use their platform to bring attention to important causes and encourage their communities to get involved.
By participating in the initiative, Prior Lake Football joined teams across Minnesota in showing that the game can be about much more than what happens on the field — it can also be an opportunity to support others and make a meaningful difference.
