About:
The John Glenn High School Girls Volleyball team stepped off the court and into the community on October 18, participating in the Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach to raise awareness and support those affected by breast cancer.
The student-athletes came together for a meaningful cause, walking 5 miles and raising over $1,000 to support those battling breast cancer, celebrate survivors, and honor the lives of those who have lost their fight.
Walking Together for a Cause
The team’s participation reflected a shared commitment to making a difference beyond athletics. By joining thousands of supporters at Jones Beach, the John Glenn volleyball players helped raise awareness while demonstrating the power of teamwork, compassion, and community involvement.
Through their fundraising efforts and dedication to completing the five-mile walk, the athletes showed that their impact extends well beyond the volleyball court.
Making Every Step Count
Breast cancer awareness initiatives provide student-athletes with opportunities to support an important cause while developing leadership skills and a deeper understanding of the needs of others.
For the John Glenn Girls Volleyball team, the event was about more than completing five miles. It was an opportunity to stand alongside survivors, support those currently undergoing treatment, and remember loved ones affected by breast cancer.
Their efforts serve as an inspiring example of how young athletes can use teamwork and determination to create positive change in their communities.
