Connolly School students laced up their sneakers and took strides to help fight breast cancer during the school’s sixth annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk-a-Thon on Oct. 15.
At the event, students and faculty dressed were dressed in pink as they walked around the school building perimeter to show their support for the worthy cause. Connolly’s Student Council organized the walk with assistance from advisers Susan Stanco and Monique Vaccaro. The group created a banner that read “Connolly Cares” to mark the occasion.
In all, the students raised $565 through pledges, which will be donated to Glen Cove C.A.R.E.S, a not-for-profit agency that provides assistance to residents of Glen Cove and neighboring communities coping with the crisis of cancer.
