Photo caption: Nassakeag Elementary School fifth graders marked their 1,000 day of school by crafting handmade keepsakes for those in the community. The students used their creativity to design and create 1,000 cards for individuals in nursing homes and those at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. They hoped that the cards will help to brighten the recipient’s day.
