About:
The boys convened initially for pizza, generously hosted by the coaches. Their purpose was to strategize a game plan and thoroughly discuss the details of the family we had chosen to support.
As the wife of one of the coaches, I- Caryn Krucher – reached out to the pantry right around Thanksgiving and requested if we could provide assistance to a family in need. We were assigned the first family on their priority list and provided with their essential demographic information.
After their team dinner, the boys were joined by their parents at Target in Levittown. They were tasked with shopping for items within the price range of $10 to $50 for each family unit.
We acquired a substantial amount of items, including pajamas, toys, footballs, hats, gloves, board games, slippers, sweatshirts, and gift cards for the parents of the adopted family.
Subsequently, the families all traveled together to Pete’s Pantry in Seaford to deliver the collected donations. The pantry staff was deeply moved by our gesture and expressed their gratitude by contacting us twice that evening and featuring our contribution on their Facebook page.
It was a heartwarming experience for everyone involved, leaving us with a sense of fulfillment and unity. This event not only promoted team building but also served as a meaningful act of kindness during this special time of the year.
