One of the students assumed the role of an ambassador for https://morgansmessage.org and initiated a club within the school.
Morgan’s Message, which aims to combat the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and promote equal treatment of physical and mental health in sports, became the focal point of this student and their club’s mission.
The student and their club approached the girls basketball coach, proposing the idea of hosting a Morgan’s Message game to both raise funds and increase awareness for mental health. Subsequently, they engaged with the team, collaborating on the program and designing shirts that both the team members and club participants donned.
In total, 45 girls, along with their coaches from the freshman, JV, and Varsity teams, joined forces with five club members to proudly sport the shirts and deliver a halftime presentation to the audience. Their collective efforts also included organizing a bake sale, resulting in the successful raising of $500 for Morgan’s Message.
