About:
For the eighth consecutive year, Deer Park’s John Quincy Adams Elementary School has participated in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Math-A-Thon for nine years in a row, raising more than $55,000 for the charity during that time by solving problems in Math-A-Thon Funbooks. Sponsors made donations based on how many math problems or pages the students completed. This year’s total was $5,000.
“The Math-A-Thon problems help the students become better at math, and we are proud and happy to help children and their families at St. Jude,” said math lab specialist Marianna Grieco, who coordinates the event each year.
