About:
For the past 8 seasons, the Fairport Boys Wrestling Team has participated in a Takedown Cancer dual meet tournament/quadrangle where the participating teams raised money for a local charity (Camp Good Days and Special Times) that supports families battling cancer. This season, the event was not held so we decided to hold our own event to raise money for Camp Good Days and raise awareness of the fight against this terrible disease. This year, the event had special, personal meaning to both our Boys and Girls Wrestling Teams. 2 of our wrestlers have parents who are in the middle of a tough battle against cancer. Our booster club organized the event around our Alumni Nite dual and sold T-shirts as a fundraiser for the event. Our wrestlers solicited their peers, teachers and administrators during their lunch periods for donations and parents and coaches also helped out. Over $2500 was raised to support our 2 impacted families and Camp Good Days. We are very proud of wrestlers and their efforts to support their teammates and others in the ongoing battle against cancer.
