AHS Athletes Being Role Models in their Community

Over the summer I was thinking about community school connections.

I decided to see if our Student Athletic council along with teammates would like to connect as role models with our eight elementary schools.  After teaching out to the building principals we found overwhelming support to do this.  Each week we set up a connection to a couple of our middle schools.  The athletes sign up, wear their uniform and go the the schools to read and interact with the elementary students.

The elementary students love it and our high school students, although nervous at first, love it as well.  They become role models while also public speaking
