The Akron Softball program is proud to be committed to community service. Last season, we worked diligently to gain the support of the Akron Lady Lions Club, who generously donated our PINK jerseys for this special cause.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we’ve partnered with Joe LaVare, Senior Development Manager for the Northeast Region of the American Cancer Society, to launch a program focused on raising awareness and support for the ACS. Thanks to Joe’s guidance and the Society’s support, we’ve created meaningful opportunities for teams and fans to contribute during a designated awareness game each season.
These special games are a chance for our players to honor loved ones affected by cancer, adding a powerful personal connection to the cause. Our pregame ceremonies blend education and tribute, emphasizing the vital importance of continued research in the fight against cancer.
We are excited about the possibility of expanding this program to the Niagara Orleans League next season and are especially thankful to the Roy-Hart softball team for joining us this year in honoring loved ones and supporting cancer awareness.
