This is a tradition that was started years ago to honor the remarkable life of Pete Frates, a St. John’s Prep graduate, baseball player and ALS Advocate.
Each season the team designs a Frates jersey with Pete’s name and number on the back.
The team also completes an ice bucket challenge to help raise awareness. The goal of both activities is to both raise awareness about ALS and money for the ALS Foundation.
