About:
The Arlington boys varsity lacrosse team and their seniors volunteer every second Monday of the month from September through March with Dutchess Outreach in Poughkeepsie NY. Every second Monday from 4-6pm 4 members of the Senior class along with their head coach help to assemble meals that are handed out to members of the community in need. The players and coach spend the first hour preparing desserts, wrapping silverware, and buttering bread. Nearing the end of this first hour they will prepare for the evening’s dinner by setting up the pick-up location with cartons of milk, water bottles, and silverware. At 5 pm they begin assembling to-go containers with the hot food and distribute meals non-stop for roughly 45 minutes. This month they prepared and distributed roughly 200 meals to the Poughkeepsie community. The meals are cooked by the staff at the Dutchess Outreach.
