About:
Arlington High School recently took the court with a purpose beyond competition, hosting its annual Pink Out Game to support the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
Organized by the Arlington girls’ basketball team, the event focused on raising awareness and funds for individuals and families affected by breast cancer throughout the Hudson Valley. Pink Out games have become a meaningful tradition within many school communities, uniting athletes, students, and supporters in a shared effort to stand with those impacted by the disease.
In the weeks leading up to the game, Miles of Hope provides the team with a dedicated fundraising page that players and coaches promote across social media to help build momentum and encourage community involvement. On game day, the gym is transformed with pink decorations, including streamers, balloons, and posters, as players proudly wear their Pink Out shirts to show their support.
The event also features strong community engagement. Representatives from Miles of Hope set up an informational and merchandise table in the lobby, while the team hosts a bake sale and organizes a 50-50 raffle during the games. All proceeds from these efforts are donated directly to the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, helping fund vital support services, resources, and programs for those facing breast cancer.
Each season, the Pink Out Game is a highly anticipated event that brings the Arlington community together for an important cause. Through their leadership and dedication, the student-athletes continue to demonstrate how high school sports can be a powerful platform for advocacy, compassion, and meaningful community impact.
