About:
Arlington Wrestling once again demonstrated the powerful impact student-athletes can have beyond the mat, raising $8,080 for Autism Speaks of the Greater Hudson Valley—surpassing last year’s total and setting a new program record.
What began as a single awareness event has grown into a meaningful annual tradition. This year, a record number of families participated, and with the generosity of family-owned businesses and community supporters, the Arlington wrestling community rallied to make a difference. The result: a fundraiser that not only broke records but deepened connections across the program.
Since the inception of Arlington’s Autism Awareness Night, the team has now raised more than $40,000 for Autism Speaks of the Greater Hudson Valley. While the financial impact is significant, coaches and organizers emphasize that the greatest achievement is the collective buy-in—student-athletes leading the charge, families showing up, and a community united around giving back.
Arlington Wrestling’s continued commitment is a powerful example of how high school athletics can inspire generosity, strengthen community bonds, and create lasting impact. Their efforts reflect the heart of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Community Service Challenge—proving that service is a tradition worth building and breaking records for.
