About:
Under the direction of Drawing and Painting teacher Jenique Nijboer, 15 art students from Carle Place High School were selected to participate in a service-learning project for children living in Bolivia. The program, The Memory Project, is a unique initiative in which selected talented art students work from photographs to create individual portraits (drawings, paintings, digital art, etc.) for children and teens from around the world who have been orphaned or disadvantaged in some way. The portraits, along with photos of the Carle Place artists, were mailed to the Bolivian children in May.
