All members of the jv and varsity girls basketball team honored a teacher who has made a positive impact on them in some way. In total, 26 student-athletes honored 22 teachers who made a difference in some way in a ceremony that took place prior to the start of the varsity girls basketball game. One by one, each player greeted their teacher on the gym floor and presented the teacher who they selected with a program and a small memento. The program included each player’s write-up of how the teacher they selected positively impacted them. This was the third annual Teacher Recognition Night. The idea originated a few years ago as a way to celebrate and honor the impact educators/counselors have had on the student-athletes in the girls’ basketball program.
