Event Type: Health & Medicine

Sport: Baseball

Date: May 5, 2022

Location:
North Middlesex Regional High School
Main Street, Townsend
MA

About:

There were a total of 230 players and coaches that took part, not all at once, but at various times throughout the day.

The North Middlesex players spent approximately 2 hours, some in the early morning setup and some in the after event cleanup. They also had scheduled games (Varsity and JV).

Athletes induced baseball, softball, G LAX and B LAX.

Players purchased yellow laces for their cleats / sneakers.  They also held up signs for loved ones who either have passed or are currently cancer.

We raised over $20,000 on the day for the Children’s Oncology Center.

“It was a great day for our annual Cancer Awareness Games at North Middlesex High School yesterday.
Thank you to the teams and Administration from Lunenburg and Tyngsboro High Schools for adjusting your schedules to be with us.
Thank you North Middlesex High School Administration for being so flexible to our needs in planning this day.
Thank you to the countless volunteers who worked in the forefront or behind the scenes to make this such a memorable day.
Thank you to the committee that spent countless hours planning.
Thank you to everyone that came out to support our event.

But above all, thank you Scott, Tracy and Emily Boyd for giving us the opportunity to remember and celebrate the life of your son and brother, Matt.” —
