About:
A high school baseball game on Tuesday had a much bigger meaning than wins and losses.
The game between Greece Olympia/Odyssey and Spencerport was played in honor of Zachary Lewis, a sophomore at Greece Odyssey High School who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
All the proceeds from the “Love for Lewis Cancer Awareness Game” benefit the Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The team also wore custom “Love for Lewis” jerseys for the game.
“He took a couple of months off and now he’s back with us,” said Dan Ford, Olympia/Odyssey’s varsity baseball coach. “I just want people to know life doesn’t stop at cancer.”
