About:
The OFA Varsity Baseball team recently stepped off the field to give back to the next generation of athletes by hosting a youth clinic for players from Owego Little League. Led by Varsity Coach Nick Wegmann, JV Coach Mason Ryan, and members of the varsity squad, the clinic provided young players with valuable skill instruction, encouragement, and a fun introduction to teamwork and competition.
Many of the varsity athletes once played in the same Little League program, making the experience especially meaningful as they returned to support the community that helped shape their own baseball journeys. The event also included a spirited relay race that added excitement and helped build connections between the high school players and youth participants.
Through mentorship and community engagement, OFA Baseball demonstrated how athletic programs can inspire younger athletes while reinforcing important values such as leadership, sportsmanship, and giving back.
