About:

Challenger Athletics is a grass roots program started by Bay Shore parent who has a child with special needs and wanted him to have the same opportunities as others. Many of our student athletes work as “Buddies” (helpers/coaches)
The program started off many years ago with just lacrosse and has expanded to tennis, basketball, football and surf camp  (one day surfing at Gilgo, which was held this past Saturday).
It is really a special program, for all of those involved, that is completely run based on donations and fundraising efforts of many local Bay Shore people.   Please see the link below.

Challenger Flag Football started this past Sunday (9/15) and runs 6 consecutive Sundays from Noon to 1:30 PM at Bay Shore High School.

Although our Varsity and JV teams had a tough opening day against Longwood, we are proud to say more than 15 of our players participated as “Buddies” to assist our special needs athletes on the field the next day!
