About:
Members of the Bayport-Blue Point High School Reform Club hosted the school district’s annual St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event on March 16 to raise funds for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a charity committed to supporting research to find cures for childhood cancers.
Participants stepped up to a chair to have their heads shaved under the expert scissors of Salon Be hair stylists Michelle Pullam and Mary Szmala. As the participants’ hair hit the floor, members of the community cheered and thanked them for their sacrifice. Gift card bags and colorful plants were also donated by local vendors to raffle off during the event.
