About:
For the past five years, Bethlehem’s athletic program has partnered with To Life! in its mission to support local individuals battling breast cancer. This meaningful partnership began when the coaching staff encouraged the team to select an organization to support through their Breast Cancer Awareness game. Former player and captain Caleb Sink suggested To Life!, a local organization he connected with through a family tie, and it’s been the team’s chosen cause ever since.
Each year, Senior Night is dedicated to breast cancer awareness, where donations and funds raised from a 50/50 raffle go directly to To Life! to support their ongoing efforts. Earlier in the season, players volunteer their time making the pink breast cancer awareness pins To Life! uses in their outreach efforts. Working closely with To Life!’s Executive Director, Eileen Howe Bird, the team has found this collaboration to be both impactful and personal, as many players have family members affected by breast cancer.
This partnership not only builds a strong sense of community, but also deepens team bonds. Players value their time volunteering with To Life! and, for many, it goes beyond meeting school service requirements; they view it as a chance to make a genuine difference.
