About:
Student-athletes from Beacon High School used their platform on the court to make a meaningful difference by hosting a Pink Out game in support of the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation.
Held on February 19 during the girls’ basketball program’s final home game of the season, the event encouraged fans, families, and community members to wear pink in solidarity with those affected by breast cancer. The night brought the Beacon community together in a powerful show of compassion, awareness, and support.
In addition to raising awareness, the Varsity and JV teams took an active leadership role by organizing and running a bake sale while also collecting donations throughout the event. Fans in attendance were given opportunities to contribute directly to the cause, helping to support programs and services that benefit individuals and families facing breast cancer across the Hudson Valley.
Through their combined efforts, the student-athletes successfully raised a total of $874 for Miles of Hope, a local organization dedicated to providing critical support resources to those in need.
Pink Out games have become an important tradition for many high school athletic programs, demonstrating how the energy and visibility of sports can be used to promote meaningful causes. By organizing this event, the Beacon girls’ basketball teams showed that athletics can extend far beyond competition — bringing people together to create awareness, inspire generosity, and make a lasting impact in their community.
