The Berner Middle School student council held a fundraiser on April 19 in honor of Santino, a sixth grader who recently underwent a heart transplant. In addition to writing get-well messages for Santino, students could buy heart-shaped lollipops for $1 each. The proceeds, which totaled more than $600, were donated to Sisters by Heart, a foundation that supports patients and families affected by single ventricle heart defects.
