On Thursday, October 11, 2018, the Bloomfield Bombers girls’ volleyball teams will Dig Pink! Bloomfield will host Harley Allendale Columbia in a fundraiser volleyball tournament as they collaborate with the Side-Out Foundation, a national non-profit organization which empowers athletes to fight Stage IV breast cancer by raising funds to sponsor targeted therapy clinical trials.
The event will offer raffles, concessions, and auctioned theme baskets donated by each team. And, of course, there will be some very spirited volleyball! There is no fee to attend but pink jars will be on-site to collect whatever monetary donations guests contribute. All money raised goes directly to fund The Side-Out Protocol.
Side-Out has provided the girls on the Bloomfield Bombers volleyball teams with the perfect avenue in which to effect change and make a difference. Like Nelson Mandela, they believe that “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope where once there was only despair.”
