About:
BMHS Boys Basketball once again used the power of sport to make a difference by hosting its 2nd Annual Blackout Cancer Event in support of the American Cancer Society.
The Blackout Cancer game took place on Friday, January 23, 2026, as BMHS faced Methuen in a night dedicated to awareness, unity, and giving back. Players, coaches, students, families, and fans came together dressed in black as a visible show of solidarity for those impacted by cancer.
The event extended far beyond the scoreboard. Through the Blackout Cancer initiative, the team honored loved ones affected by the disease while raising critical funds to support cancer research, patient services, and advocacy through the American Cancer Society.
With strong community participation, the Blackout Cancer Event continued to grow as a meaningful annual tradition within BMHS Athletics, demonstrating how basketball can serve as a platform for leadership, compassion, and community impact.
