The Bonac Football team recently had the honor of serving dinner to wounded service members visiting the community for the Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride.
Ahead of the annual ride, members of the team came together to welcome the participating warriors and show their appreciation through an evening of service and hospitality.
The opportunity gave the student-athletes a meaningful way to support individuals who have sacrificed so much through their military service. By helping serve dinner and spending time with the visiting warriors, the team played a small but important role in making them feel welcomed and supported before the weekend’s ride.
The Soldier Ride brings together wounded veterans and supporters through cycling, community, and camaraderie. For the Bonac Football program, taking part in the weekend was a powerful reminder that leadership and teamwork extend far beyond the football field.
Experiences like this give student-athletes the chance to connect with their community, honor service and sacrifice, and understand the impact that simple acts of gratitude can have.
