About:
In honor of Red Nose Day, a worldwide effort dedicated to ending child poverty in communities across the globe, students at Bowling Green Elementary School in the East Meadow School District collected monetary funds and nonperishable food donations for the Parish of St. Raphael in East Meadow. The drive was organized by the Bowling Green Kiwanis Kids, who encouraged their fellow students to wear red and donate $1 or a nonperishable food item to the cause.
Sister Judy from St. Raphael visited the school on May 26, collecting $341.55 and a box filled with rice, pasta and canned vegetables for those less fortunate in the community.
