About:

This is the 4th year our Boys Soccer program has been involved with ALS Awareness and fundraising support.  Each year we host a JV/Varsity doubleheader with this year’s games vs. neighboring Mt. Sinai HS on Wed., Sept. 18th…(JV @ 4pm & V @ 6pm).  All proceeds from baskets, donations, shirt/bracelet sales, etc. go to the “ALS Ride 4 Lift” Foundation. The game is in memory of Dr. Frank Verdone, who was diagnosed in 2014 and then tragically passed from this horrible disease in 2018.  Dr. Verdone’s son Tristan was a member of the Varsity Soccer team and game participant in 2015 & 2016.  Dr. Verdone served as a Ride for Lift Board member from 2015 until his death.

The ALS “Ride for Life” Foundation was created in 1997 by long-time Miller Place resident & current ALS patient Chris Pendergast & Family.  The purpose is to raise awareness to the disease as well as provide financial support for research & patient care.  Information can be found through the below links.  Please reach out with any further information needed.
