About:
On March 26th, the BHS gymnasium buzzed with excitement as Hoopin for Habitat unfolded. Brewster Habitat for Humanity, in collaboration with the BHS Wellness Committee, orchestrated a lively event aimed at igniting enthusiasm for Spring Break while nurturing a spirit of community service and generosity. Student athletes enthusiastically embraced the challenge, not only investing their time but also rallying support from friends and family through sponsorships, thereby contributing to the cause by raising funds.
The roster of dedicated student athletes who rose to the occasion includes Jack McKenney(10), Jonathan Rosario(10), Bri Franklin(12), Lauren Leon(9), Will Dignan(11), Fabian Suarez(12), Joseph Vaughan(12), and Arvin Gil(9). Noteworthy performances illuminated the event: Will Dignan dominated the 3-point contest, sinking an impressive 14 out of 20 shots, while Bri Franklin and Arvin Gil exhibited remarkable prowess in Free Throws, each landing 15 out of 20.
With the resounding success of this inaugural event, there’s a collective hope to establish it as an annual tradition in Brewster, fostering camaraderie and community engagement for years to come.
