About:
For the third consecutive year, Bridgehampton School hosted a heartfelt Veterans Day presentation to honor and celebrate local veterans. The event, held on Nov. 8, recognized the bravery and sacrifices of those who have served our country.
Principal Michael Cox opened the ceremony by emphasizing the importance of Veterans Day, highlighting the profound impact that our veterans’ service has had on both the nation and the local community. “Today, we gather to express our gratitude and honor veterans on their selflessness, setting a standard of what it means to truly serve,” Principal Cox said.
As part of the ceremony, the Bridgehampton Elementary School Student Government had the privilege of presenting roses to each veteran in attendance, symbolizing respect and appreciation for their service. Foreign language teacher Diane Lizzol stood with photos representing her three family members who have served the country as one of the students gave her three roses. The event, organized by Bridgehampton staff members Hamra Ozsu and Dave Elliot, also featured a special musical performance by The Jazz Loft in Stony Brook, whose Big Band delivered an unforgettable selection of patriotic tunes, adding to the ceremony’s heartfelt atmosphere.
The Bridgehampton School community takes pride in this annual tradition, which brings together local veterans, students, faculty and residents to reflect on the significance of the day and to show support for those who have served.
