About:
Students in Coach Jacobs’ Building Construction and Technology Education classes are proving that hands-on learning can have a powerful impact far beyond the classroom.
Recently, these student leaders partnered with A Bed for Every Child Program and The John Hughan Foundation to give back in a meaningful way—assembling 10 beds for children and families in need. Through teamwork, skill-building, and a shared commitment to helping others, students transformed classroom lessons into real-world impact.
Learning with Purpose
This initiative is a perfect example of education-based learning in action. Students didn’t just practice construction techniques—they applied their knowledge to make a tangible difference in their community. Each bed built represents comfort, stability, and care for a child who needs it.
Projects like this also reinforce important life skills such as collaboration, responsibility, and compassion—showing students the value of using their talents to serve others.
Creating Lasting Impact
The partnership with A Bed for Every Child and The John Hughan Foundation highlights the power of community collaboration. By working together, these organizations and students are addressing a real need while inspiring the next generation of leaders.
With plans to continue this effort in the future, Coach Jacobs and his students are building more than beds—they’re building a culture of service and giving back.
