The BVT Field Hockey team recently hosted a special Morgan’s Message Dedication Game, using the day to help raise awareness about mental health among student-athletes.
Held on September 21, the event included a Morgan’s Message concessions stand before the game, giving the school community another opportunity to support the cause and learn more about the importance of athlete mental health.
The dedication game centered on three important messages: support, honor, and spread awareness.
By hosting the event, BVT Field Hockey helped create space for meaningful conversations surrounding the pressures student-athletes can face and reinforced the importance of making mental health part of the conversation in sports.
The initiative also gave players an opportunity to use their platform beyond competition, helping encourage teammates, classmates, families, and fans to support one another and break the stigma surrounding mental health.
For BVT Field Hockey, the day was about much more than the game. It was a chance to stand together, raise awareness, and remind student-athletes that their mental well-being matters.
