About:
The Byron Football program recently traded time on the field for time giving back, as more than 50 student-athletesspent Sunday evening helping Christ the King Catholic Church in Byron prepare for its annual fall pumpkin patch.
Players volunteered for approximately an hour, working together to unload, organize, and set up pumpkins so the church would be ready to welcome families and community members throughout the fall season.
The yearly service project has become a meaningful tradition for Byron Football and gives the players another opportunity to put teamwork into action beyond the game.
By donating their time and effort, the student-athletes demonstrated the importance of service, responsibility, and supporting the community that supports them throughout the season.
For Byron Football, the annual pumpkin patch project is a reminder that being part of a team extends far beyond Friday nights.
It’s more than football — it’s about giving back and making a difference in the community.
