The Byron Football program recently took time away from the field to give back to the community, as players spent part of their weekend helping a local church prepare its annual pumpkin patch.
The student-athletes worked together to help set up and organize the pumpkins, making sure everything was ready for the community to enjoy during the fall season.
The service project gave the players an opportunity to use the same teamwork they rely on in football in a different setting, while supporting a local organization and lending a hand where it was needed.
For Byron Football, the effort was another reminder that being part of a team is about more than what happens on game day.
By giving their time to help the church, the players showed the importance of service, responsibility, and being active members of the community.
The project reflected the program’s message perfectly: it’s more than football.
