About:
This holiday season, the Cal-Mum Cheerleading team is bringing smiles and spreading cheer by volunteering at the Annual Joe Benet Memorial Kazoo Fest! A beloved tradition of Camp Good Days, this event brings joy to locations across Central and Western New York from November 29th to December 23rd.
By giving just one shift at Eastview Mall, Greece Ridge Mall, or Roc Holiday Village, volunteers raise funds to send children impacted by cancer or sickle cell anemia to a free, fun-filled summer camp. It’s a simple way to make a big difference in the lives of these kids.
The Cal-Mum Cheerleading team has been proud participants in this fundraiser since 2011. This year is extra special for senior Kate McCowan, who has been part of this event for an incredible 10 years, starting as a team manager before joining the squad in 7th grade. Her dedication embodies the spirit of giving that defines the Kazoo Fest.
Originally focused on selling kazoos for donations, the fundraiser has grown to include stuffed animals, water, and more. The Cal-Mum Cheerleaders put their own festive twist on the event, learning holiday dances they perform throughout December, including at the malls where they’re volunteering. These performances not only spread holiday cheer but also encourage patrons to donate generously.
Join us in supporting this amazing cause, and help make the holidays brighter for kids in need. Together, we can bring joy and hope to those who need it most. Happy Holidays from Cal-Mum Cheerleading!
