About:
The Caledonia-Mumford varsity boys basketball program recently took time to recognize the individuals who help shape student-athletes both on and off the court by hosting a meaningful Staff Appreciation Night.
Leading up to the game against Letchworth, each Raider player wrote and personally delivered a heartfelt letter to a teacher or staff member who has made a lasting impact on their journey. The powerful gesture highlighted the deep connections student-athletes build with the mentors who guide, encourage, and support them throughout their school experience.
Prior to tip-off, players were introduced alongside their honored staff member and walked onto the court together to receive a special certificate and public acknowledgment. The ceremony created a memorable moment for athletes, educators, and families, reinforcing the strong sense of community within the district.
Those recognized included dedicated teachers, coaches, administrators, and support staff such as Miss Brittany Chapman, Mr. Chip Day, Mr. Scott Henry, Ms. Kylie DiTucci, Mr. Spencer Flint, Mr. Brian McQuillan, Ms. Christy Pope, Miss Desi Lyman, Mr. John Walther, and Mr. Tim McArdle — all of whom have played important roles in shaping the lives of Caledonia-Mumford student-athletes.
Special appreciation was also extended to Coach Shelton and the boys’ basketball team for organizing an event that celebrated gratitude, leadership, and the lasting influence of educators. Staff Appreciation Night served as a powerful reminder that behind every successful team is a community of dedicated individuals committed to helping students grow into confident leaders.
