About:
The Autism and Neurodiversity Acceptance Games fundraiser, hosted by Calhoun Softball on Saturday, May 10th, was a heartwarming celebration of inclusion and community. The event kicked off with the highly anticipated Autism and Neurodiversity Acceptance Game, where Calhoun Softball squared off against Seaford Softball, creating an exciting atmosphere of friendly competition. Following the game, the second annual Challenger Tee-ball Games brought together athletes from both teams, with coaches and players from Calhoun and Seaford leading the way.
The day was filled with beautiful weather, joy, and plenty of activities, including a BBQ, cotton candy, snow cones, popcorn, and raffles generously donated by local businesses in Merrick. All funds raised from the event, totaling $1,061, will go directly to Calhoun Connections, benefiting the Special Education population and their buddies at Calhoun.
This special day wasn’t just about sports – it was about fostering acceptance, inclusivity, and the power of connection through the game of softball. The event highlighted the importance of coming together as a community, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who made this day a success!
