Garden City Middle School hosted its annual GC Cares-A-Thon on Friday, Jan. 28. The Cares-A-Thon is a special event hosted by the Middle School Anti-Bullying Task Force, PTA and SEPTA. It brings together members of the Garden City school community to support a number of causes and organizations.
This year, 17 stations were set up around the halls of the middle school. Each station was run by student volunteers, clubs and teams who were responsible for decorating their assigned table and working the event. Each table represented a different charitable cause with an activity for attendees to participate in or a collection for the respective organizations. The community service-based event drew in more than 200 people and emphasized the importance of service-learning within the district.
