About:
On September 14th, the CCCSD Boys Soccer team came together once again for their annual Blue September Car Washfundraiser. Held at Walgreens on the corner of Buffalo Rd and Union, both the JV and Varsity teams washed cars to raise funds for men’s prostate cancer research. The JV team worked from 10-12, followed by Varsity from 12-2, with all donations going to the Wilmot Cancer Institute.
This year marks the 13th year of this important fundraiser. In 2012, the team’s coach discovered an international program aimed at promoting awareness for men’s prostate cancer called Blue September. As a coach of young men, he saw this campaign as a meaningful opportunity to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research. The Wilmot Cancer Institute was chosen as the beneficiary due to its local impact, helping countless individuals in the community.
Each year, players, coaches, and parents volunteer their time to make this car wash a success, with all proceeds going directly to prostate cancer research at Wilmot. It’s a great way for the team to give back while promoting awareness for an important cause.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to support the Blue September Car Wash and help the CCCSD Boys Soccer team make a difference in the fight against prostate cancer!
