About:
Centre Avenue School in East Rockaway commemorated the lives lost on 9/11 with a solemn ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11. At 8:45 a.m., the entire school gathered outside at the flagpole for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Centre Avenue principal, Ms. Calia Kelly, led a moment of silence, after which four students proudly stepped forward to lead their peers in reciting the Pledge.
The school was honored by the presence of East Rockaway Mayor Gordon Fox, Village Trustee Stephanie Paul, Superintendent James DeTommaso, and members of the East Rockaway School District administration.
