Student Council students of East Rockaway’s Centre Avenue Elementary School wrote letters to local law enforcement and veterans expressing their appreciation for their years of service to help keep the community safe.
A group of Nassau County firefighters and family members went down to Washington D.C. to hand deliver the letters to veterans, who are part of Operation Wounded Warriors. Fifth grade teacher Mrs. ToniAnn Donald and her husband were among those who traveled down to Washington D.C. to spend time with these veterans.
