About:
The annual Battle for the Jug between Chaska High School and Chanhassen High School brought more than football rivalry to the field on October 9, 2026. The two Minnesota communities came together for Tackle Cancer Night, using one of the season’s most anticipated matchups to raise awareness and funds for individuals and families affected by cancer.
While the Hawks and Storm battled for local bragging rights, both programs demonstrated how high school athletics can unite communities around a cause greater than the game.
Rivals on the Field, United Against Cancer
The Battle for the Jug is a longstanding rivalry between Chaska and Chanhassen, bringing together student-athletes, families, and supporters from across Eastern Carver County.
This year’s matchup carried additional meaning as both football programs participated in Tackle Cancer Night, supporting cancer research and community assistance initiatives.
Together, the teams and their supporters helped turn a spirited football rivalry into an opportunity to make a positive difference.
