About:
On Nov. 19, Clara H. Carlson School hosted a Walk-a-Thon to raise funds for Rescuing Families Inc., a charity that assists families with home rehab or modification.
Representatives from the organization joined the students and staff to kick off the walk and pay homage to Carlson alumna Kelly Arcillas, whose home is currently being renovated by the organization.
Despite the chill in the air, students and staff happily bundled to walk around the schoolyard for the cause. Sixth grade students led the walk by cheering “bring Kelly home” and holding colorful, handmade signs.
The walkathon, as well as sales of snacks and bracelets, raised approximately $2,500 for the organization.
